A  session on “Opportunities in Higher Education” was lead by Murali S, Head-Training and Placement ,TIME institute. He gave an insight into the various learning avenues in MBA,CA and Bank exams for the students. A guest lecture was delivered by Mrs. Sowmya, Head, Department of B.Com(Hons) on Company Lawas per the amended Companies Act, 2013 on 28th March 2017

The Department of Bank Management organized three informative workshops on “Basics of Banking” on 9th February 2016 and “Demand for and supply of Money” on 4th March 2016 and 5th March 2016 “Communication can make or break careers”.

The respective resource persons were Mr. Ashok Kumar, Senior Manager and Principal, Regional Staff Training College, Canada Bank and Ms.Vaidegi.T, Asst. Prof.Asan School of Management, Chennai and Ms.Aruna Das, Founder/Director, Catalyst Image Consulting, Chennai wherein the students gained invaluable knowledge about the current banking facilities, significance of inter-relationship between demand and supply of money and also highlighted onpara verbal and visual communication.

A workshop on “Importance of Corporate Communication” was conducted on 22nd July 2015 for the first year students of B.Com ISM, B.Com BM and B.Com MM. The resource persons were Ms. Priya Ram (Head Trainer) and Ms. Bhooma Sriram (Lead Trainer) from Bell Soft Learning and Development Pvt.Ltd, Chennai. The session threw light on how communication can make or break careers and in fact live demonstrations were given to students in an interesting and interactive manner.

“XPLORE 360°”, a workshop sequence -1st Edition

The Departments of Commerce and Management organized “XPLORE 360°”, a workshop sequence -1st Edition on 20th August 2015, under 11 different titles on investment planning, people management, hospitality, animation, retailing, insurance, branding & marketing, corporate social responsibility, career in aviation, advertising and trends in banking services, with the aim to ignite the inquisitiveness among the students and to explore the awareness beyond curriculum. Over 600 students attended these workshops with resource persons from the corporate sector.

 A Two-Day mega event” BIZNIS 2015-2nd Edition” – a Commerce Fest was conducted by 9 departments namely the assorted Departments of Commerce, BBA and  MBA  on 22nd September 2015.It was inaugurated by Dr.S.Ramachandran,Director-HR and Business Strategy, AMET University, the Chief Guest.  The event consisted of 9 subject oriented contests of novel approach such as BiznizTwist,CorporateWalk,WiseVenture,BiznizApp, Pack N Move, Spoof, Channel Surfing, Brainy Bytes and Bizniz Incubator. Dr..GunitaArunChandok in her address highlighted that “students need to apply conceptual knowledge in practice through such contests and they are the brand ambassadors of the college who had to carry the flag of the college to greater heights by winning laurels both in inter collegiate and intra collegiate fests”.  Over 1100 students participated in various events and 18 experts from Corporate and Academia judged the various events and gave valuable tips to the participants.
