Guest lectures on “5 W’s and 1 H?” were organised on 13th July and 1st September 2016. Mr. M.Sudhakar, HR Head, Allsec Technologies andGroup Capt. Dr. R. Venkataraman, Manager, Madras Management Associationwere the resource persons.They discussed Understanding Work Place Dynamics – The Key To Success”.

Guest Lecture on “Achievement of Personal Excellence in the contemporary Scenario” was organised on 10th February 2017. Mr. N. Solomon Raj, Leadership and Management Consultant, of  The Solid Rock, Chennai was the guest speaker

B.Com CS

On 22nd March 2017, a Guest Lecture on “Balancing Adolescence and Career” was organised.The resource person was Ms. R. Senkamalam, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Guru Nanak College.

  The Dept. of B.Com A&F  organized a lecture on the topic “Importance of English in day to day life” on 31st July 2015.The speaker was Dr.Savithri Swaminathan, Asst.Prof ,Dept. of English, Guru Nanak College, Chennai, She highlighted  the importance of having English interlocution, writing and reading skills. Her lecture proved beneficial for over 250 students.

Seminar on “Professional Career and Job Opportunities beyond B.Com Degree, was organized on 15th September 2015.The speaker, Mr.R.S.Sivaraman FCA, ACS,  Practicing Chartered Accountant & Company Secretary, gave insights into the various career opportunities available in Banking, Insurance Sector. He highlighted the facilities available in Chennai which can help the students in clearing CA, CS & CWA exams with ease. He also made a mention about international courses like CIMA, ACCA & IFRS.

Dept. Of B.Com.C.S organized a workshop on the topic Career Development Programme on Corporate Secretary ship on 27th July 2015. The resource persons were Mr. Mohan Kumar- Member of ICSI Unit and Ms. Chitra Anatharaman, Deputy Director, ICSI Unit. They highlighted   the importance of pursuing the Company Secretaryship course and motivated the students to pursue a career in the field of Corporate Secretaryship.

“XPLORE 360°”, a workshop sequence -1st Edition

The Departments of Commerce and Management organized “XPLORE 360°”, a workshop sequence -1st Edition on 20th August 2015, under 11 different titles on investment planning, people management, hospitality, animation, retailing, insurance, branding & marketing, corporate social responsibility, career in aviation, advertising and trends in banking services, with the aim to ignite the inquisitiveness among the students and to explore the awareness beyond curriculum. Over 600 students attended these workshops with resource persons from the corporate sector.

A Two-Day mega event” BIZNIS 2015-2nd Edition” – a Commerce Fest was conducted by 9 departments namely the assorted Departments of Commerce, BBA and  MBA  on 22nd September 2015.It was inaugurated by Dr.S.Ramachandran,Director-HR and Business Strategy, AMET University, the Chief Guest.  The event consisted of 9 subject oriented contests of novel approach such as BiznizTwist,CorporateWalk,WiseVenture,BiznizApp, Pack N Move, Spoof,Channel Surfing, Brainy Bytes and Bizniz Incubator. Dr..GunitaArunChandok in her address highlighted that “students need to apply conceptual knowledge in practice through such contests and they are the brand ambassadors of the college who had to carry the flag of the college to greater heights by winning laurels both in inter collegiate and intra collegiate fests”.  Over 1100 students participated in various events and 18 experts from Corporate and Academia judged the various events and gave valuable tips to the participants.
